Turning over a new leaf in 2023
Dec 22, 2023Whether you’re the type of person to make New Year’s resolutions or not, the end of the year is the perfect time to reflect on what worked and what didn’t and to start making plans for how you’d like the next year to look for your business.
So if you’re planning on turning over a new leaf in 2023, here are just a few ways you can start planning for success...
Grow Your Brand
Set your marketing goals for 2024 by taking a look at your progress and growth in 2023 and set realistic milestones to do better this year. This could include:
- Follower growth percentage on Instagram or TikTok
- Boosting your engagement numbers
- Doing some research to refresh your hashtags
- Reworking your budget for marketing and ads
Pre-Plan Your Content
Start building your posting calendar now to get a head start on your content calendar. Doing this ahead of time ensures you have content ready to go when the time comes so you don’t have to come up with fresh ideas on the spot. A few tips:
- Look at holidays for the first 6 months of 2024 and prep content so you don't forget
- Try assigning different themes and hashtags to certain days to help you come up with content. For example: Motivation Monday, Hair Tips Tuesday, Skincare Sunday etc.
- Forecast specials and the posts that go along with them
Offer Small But Mighty Extras
What small things can you add to your salon suite to make the experience better for your clients next year? Making small upgrades can add up and can allow you to charge more. Here are just a few examples some of our clients have had success with:
- Let your clients pick the music with Spotify sessions
- Make small gift bags with samples of the care products you offer
- Offer a beverage service by adding a mini fridge with water, soda, and tea
- Offer an iPad with Netflix or games (Bonus: you can also put a survey on the iPad to start collecting info on your customers favorite things and style preferences)
- Offer a quiet service option for those who may not want to chat
Upgrade Your Space
- Go beyond standard painted walls and add wall decals, shelving with cool art and plants. Make the room FEEL premium and people will be more willing to pay for premium
- Offer a charging station with chargers for clients’ phones with cords long enough that they can use them in their seats
- Give clients a dedicated space like a small locker, basket, or a cubby for their things like phones, wallets, keys, glasses, etc. to make them feel thought of and looked after
- Install coat AND purse hooks to keep things off chairs or the ground - no one wants dirt or hair on their things when they leave
Overall, you know better than anyone what will work best to help you reach your goals for the new year so take some time to envision what you’d like to accomplish in 2024 and start planning now. You’ve worked hard to get this far and the sky's the limit so don’t stop now!
