Using the Holiday season to make more sales
Nov 24, 2023The holidays are comin’ in hot and with a predicted average spend of $1,000 per person, it pays to have a plan in place to capitalize on the busiest shopping season of the year. And with so many people in a giving — and spending — mood, why not make your products and services the clear choice this holiday season?
So if you’re ready to take your slice of the $789 BILLION holiday retail pie, consider leveraging one or all of the following holiday promotion ideas.
Holiday Discounts!
Consider offering discounts on select products and services during the holiday season. We know. It sounds a little counterintuitive, but people are always looking for ways to stretch their budget during the holidays. Not to mention, after you’ve lured them in with that sexy discount, while they’re in your studio they’re more likely to buy other products and you can encourage them to pre-book their next appointment at full price while they’re there.
Bundles!
Combine products that don’t sell so well on their own into a holiday gift bundle. People love the ease of buying pre-assembled gifts that are basically several gifts in one. You can even throw in those samples that have been taking up space in your cabinets as an added bonus. Giving each bundle a specific theme like “deep-conditioning gift set” or “Ultimate cleansing kit” is a great way to boost sales as well because each one solves a specific problem that your customers can relate to.
Collaborations!
Now that Instagram has upped their game on Collaborations, working with other industry pros to expand your collective reach and impact has never been easier. By leveraging social media and the relationships you’ve made throughout your salon suite location, you can work with other beauty industry professionals down the hall to offer one-stop-shop packages that include hair, nails, massage, facial, etc. all in one place. The added convenience for your customers is a huge selling point and collaborating with others opens up the possibility of serving new clients.
Holiday Party Primping!
With larger gatherings becoming more and more common again, the holiday party scene is back up and running. Everything from family gatherings, to house parties, and company holiday events are back in vogue and since many of your customers haven’t seen their family, loved ones, and/or co-workers in over a year, they’re going to want their hair, nails, and makeup done to look their very best for their triumphant return to the social scene. Consider posting/advertising some holiday-themed color schemes and accessories and watch your book fill up (if it’s not already).
Gift Cards!
Offer gift cards for your services and make sure to tell your clients, so they can tell their significant others. It’s as simple as that. You can even consider offering a free or discounted product, service, or an added $20 gift card for every $100 spent. This way, if a customer is buying a gift card for a friend or loved one, they’ve got the added incentive of a little something extra for themselves, as a stocking stuffer, or to tack on to the gift they’re already giving.
By leveraging all or some of these promotions in combination with our 5 Steps to Selling More Retail, you’ll not only bring more value to your clients but you’ll build customer loyalty and make more sales while you’re at it. Win-win!
We hope you find success with some of these ideas and that you have a very happy and lucrative holiday!
